Introduction

In this policy, “us”, “we” or “our” means Referyou Pty. ltd. (ABN 55 620 261 109) and its related bodies corporate, partnerships and joint venture entities.

We may, from time to time, review and update this policy, including taking account of new or amended laws, new technology and/or changes to our operations. Your privacy matters to us, so whether you are new to Referyou or are a long time user, please take the time to get to know our practices. If you object to any changes, you may close your account. Your continued use of our service indicates your consent to the privacy policy including changes.

Services

This Privacy Policy applies to Referyou.com.au, Referyou-branded apps, and other Referyou-related sites, apps, communications and services (“Services”), but excluding services that state that they are offered under a different privacy policy.

Change

We may modify this Contract, our Privacy Policy and our Cookies Policies from time to time. If we make material changes to it, we will provide you notice through our Services, or by other means, to provide you the opportunity to review the changes before they become effective. If you object to any changes, you may close your account. Your continued use of our Services after we publish or send a notice about our changes to these terms means that you are consenting to the updated terms.

What is personal information?

Registration

To create an account you provide data including your name, email address and/or mobile number, and a password. Additionally we may collect additional information such as:

  • age or birth date;
  • profession, occupation or job title;
  • details of the products and services you provide as a service provider
  • any additional information relating to you that you provide to us directly through our websites or indirectly through use of our website or online presence through our representatives or otherwise;
  • information you provide to us through our service centre, customer surveys or visits by our representatives from time to time.

Use of the service

We collect information about your use of the service, for example when requesting referrals for specific services, or friends and connections and service provider you have contacted in the past.

Usage data

We log usage data when you visit or otherwise use our Services, including our sites, app and platform technology (e.g., our off-site plugins), such as when you view or click on content, perform a search, install one of our mobile apps. We use log-ins, cookies, device information and internet protocol (“IP”) addresses to identify you and log your use.

Messages

We collect information about you when you send, receive, or engage with messages in connection with our Services.

Location data

When you visit or leave our Services (including our plugins or cookies or similar technology on the sites of others), we receive the URL of both the site you came from and the one you go to next. We also get information about your IP address, proxy server, operating system, web browser and add-ons, device identifier and features, and/or ISP or your mobile carrier. If you use our Services from a mobile device, that device will send us data about your location. Most devices allow you to prevent location data from being sent to us and we honor your settings.

We receive information about your visits and interaction with services provided by others when you log-in with Referyou or visit others’ services, ads, cookies or similar technologies.


Why we collect data and how we use it

The primary purpose for which we collect information about you is to enable us to perform our business activities and functions and to provide best possible quality of customer experience. We collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information for the following purposes:

  • to provide products and services to you;
  • to communicate with you, including but not limited to, by email, mail, SMS or telephone;
  • to manage and enhance our products and services;
  • to personalise and customise your experience;
  • to verify your identity;
  • to provide as part of business data to third parties if you have authorised us to do so;
  • to provide customer support
  • to conduct business processing functions for operation of our websites or our business;
  • for our administrative, marketing (including direct marketing), promotional, planning, product/service development, quality control and research purposes, or those of our contractors or external service providers;

We currently do not share personal data with third parties for their direct marketing purposes without your permission.


How to access your personal informationy

All personal information provided by yourself can be viewed and edited directly within our services.

You may request access to any personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us (details below). Where we hold information that you are entitled to access, we will try and provide you with suitable means of accessing it (for example, by mailing or emailing it to you). We will not charge for simply making a request and will not charge for making any corrections to your personal information. If you make an access request, we will ask you to verify your identity. There may be instances where we cannot grant you access to the personal information we hold. For example, we may need to refuse access if granting access would interfere with the privacy of others, or if it would result in a breach of confidentiality. If that happens, we will give you written reasons for any refusal.

If you believe that personal information we hold about you is incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate, then you may request us to amend it. We will consider if the information requires amendment. If we do not agree that there are grounds for amendment, then we will add a note to the personal information stating that you disagree with it.
